This record represents the GPT-6 Sol release of September 22, 2026 as exposed under the gpt-6-sol name: OpenAI's model page lists the default snapshot and the snapshot inventory as gpt-6-sol with no dated snapshot, so applications cannot pin a dated revision through OpenAI, although Azure Foundry documents the version as gpt-6-sol (2026-09-22). OpenAI changed the name in place on September 25, 2026 (an image-encoding fix). GPT-6.1 Sol, which OpenAI's model page calls the newer Sol model, the GPT-5.6 Sol tier, GPT-6 Astra and Luna, the pro reasoning mode, ChatGPT and Codex surfaces, fine-tuned derivatives, and later generations are separate service, application, or model boundaries.
