This record represents the `sakana-namazu-v1.0` release, the fixed model ID Sakana AI's console documents as the current version of its Japanese-specialized line, launched with the API announcement of 3 August 2026. The `sakana-namazu` alias, which the console states points to the latest version and currently resolves to v1.0, is a moving name rather than a second release. The Fugu, Fugu Ultra, Fugu Max, and Fugu Cyber models are separate multi-agent orchestration releases that Sakana explicitly contrasts with this one, the March 2026 Namazu alpha prototypes built on DeepSeek-V3.1-Terminus, Llama 3.1, and gpt-oss-120B are a superseded lineage, the underlying Kimi K2.6 weights are Moonshot AI's release and not Sakana AI's, and the LEAP-style on-premises customization stack Sakana sells is a separate product boundary.
