BabyAGI
The original create-prioritize-execute task loop that seeded the 2023 wave of autonomous LLM agents (AutoGPT and its many forks); most later agent frameworks either extended this pattern or were built explicitly to fix its lack of tool use, approvals, and recovery.

- The live yoheinakajima/babyagi repository (22k+ stars) now hosts an unrelated, actively developed 'functionz' function-registration framework under the same name and maintainer, not a continuation of this task-loop agent; that project is tracked separately in the candidate queue. This record covers yoheinakajima/babyagi_archive, the maintainer's own September 2024 snapshot of the original, which is not itself GitHub-flagged archived but receives no further commits and is presented in its own README as a historical snapshot.
