MindsHub

A widely starred example of a vendor packaging a broad, connected-data agent workspace as an ostensibly open-source superproject whose actual operational core is proprietary, which matters for any reader evaluating it on the top-level MIT badge alone.

This repository is a superproject: its top-level MIT LICENSE covers only the build/glue code. It pins four Git submodules, each under its own license, reviewed here at the exact commits mindshub's main branch pins: frontend (mindsdb/cowork) is AGPL-3.0; backend/core_agent (mindsdb/anton) is MIT; backend/core_api (mindsdb/cowork-server) -- the agent backend the whole product depends on to run -- carries an all-rights-reserved proprietary notice with no reuse grant; and backend/data-vault (mindsdb/data-vault, the MindsDB core engine) splits Elastic License 2.0 for its core against MIT for its `/mindsdb/integrations` subdirectory. The taxonomy has no dedicated id for Elastic License 2.0, so it is recorded here as LicenseRef-Commercial (source-available with reuse and hosting restrictions), the same bucket other Atlas records use for comparable dual-licensed cores. The README's own 'released under the MIT License' framing describes only the top-level repository, not the product a user actually runs.
